On 4 January 2012, Shanghai Creative Industry Association held the First Session of the Second Members (Representatives) Meeting and elected the new members for the council. CPPCC Vice-President, Li Wuwei, was elected again as the President of the Shanghai Creative Industry Association, with Wang Ronghua, vice-president of the tenth Shanghai Municipal CPPCC, as the Executive President, Sun Fuliang, former Assistant Dean of Shanghai Theater Academy, as the Managing Deputy President and Jia Bo, DOBE President, as the Vice-president.

Shanghai Creative Industry Association was established in August 2005 and is the first social organization set up in the national creative industry field. As the creative industry is a kind of newly-merged thing, Shanghai Creative Industry Association gets a start without precedents for it to learn from. Since its establishment, the association has always persisted in the objective of “setting foot on high-levels, setting up platforms, integrating resources and promoting the development”, worked hard and made determined efforts and vigorous plans to be stronger, finally finding the way of exploration and advancing for Shanghai creative industry and winning the extensive approval and good opinions from the society. UN officers have ever pointed out that taking the lead to establish the association was a piece of very valuable experience during the development of Shanghai creative industry. Shanghai Creative Industry Association has been well-known as one of the important social forces of Shanghai for promoting the creative industry.

In 2010, DOBE became one of the members of Shanghai Creative Industry Association and the chief organization of special committee for new media. DOBE President, Jia Bo, became the responsible person for special committee for new media which is designed to promote the development of Shanghai new media industry by setting up cooperative platform for communication and win-win development of enterprises and public institutions in each industry chain and its support chain. Meanwhile, DOBE also worked as the organizer of the website of Shanghai Creative Industry Association and made contributions to the Casermatization construction of the Association.

It was said that leaders from CCP Shanghai Communist Party Propaganda Department, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Casermatization, Shanghai Administration Bureau of NGOs, and Shanghai Cultural & Creative Industry Promotion Leading Group Office, etc., attended the election meeting for a new term and congratulated on the formation of new council of Shanghai Creative Industry Association.
