On Oct. 9, in the afternoon, the first meeting of the first council of Shanghai Promotion Center for City of Fashion was held in Donghua University. Inspector Chen Yuehua of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Chief of Urban Industry Section (Creative and Design Industries) Liu Boying attended the meeting as representative from the administrative authority. At the meeting, it was announced Shangtex would be the chairman of the first council. DOBE Group became a council member on invitation.

      Shanghai Promotion Center for City of Fashion is still in the preparatory stage. Donghua University’s Vice Chancellor Liu Chuhong first introduced the situation of preparation to the participants. In recent years, Shanghai actively explored and promoted the construction of functions, carriers, talents and brands for City of Fashion, aiming to “build an international city of fashion”. To unite all forces to promote the construction of a city of fashion and the development of fashion creative industry, Donghua University began to prepare for setting up Shanghai Promotion Center for City of Fashion in April this year, as the primary initiator, aiming to build an open service platform that meets the needs of modern cultural and creative industries.

      The council had in-depth discussion on the Promotion Center’s future development. Chen Yuehua delivered congratulations on convening the meeting on behalf of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization: “the Promotion Center shoulders the important task to help Shanghai construct a city of fashion and become a top-class city. In the future work, we should do well in top design, to plan fashion resources as a whole; we should lead fashion trends, to help the city’s development; we should develop alliance economy, to form all innovation and all win; we should think outside the box, explore and innovative bravely, to become a powerful assistant for Shanghai to build a city of fashion.”
