Buildings were born to provide shelter from rain, wind and beasts. Gradually, as mankind’s aesthetic sense improved and imagination about the future world evolved, buildings became artworks in architects’ hands, became mankind’s inspiration and imagination about the future. Exquisite carvings made dust float in the air; the reflection of light off glass made light pollution a black hole on the earth; skyscraping “Concrete Jungles” made the blue sky farther and farther from us…we felt the coldness of reinforcing steel bars and the hardness of concrete when inverted triangle impregnable fortresses rose straight from the ground in cities… we lost ourselves and forgot our original intention in the noisy and complicated world. So we began to redefine our future, our requirements for space, buildings, the sky and the earth. We recovered our original simplicity and returned to our original nature. Again, we returned to the point of origin, to seek the natural, philanthropic and pure essence of art.

Doctor Xu Yibo gave a keynote speech on “The Re-harmonization of Human, Nature and Art”. Through urban life, natural environment, architectural aesthetics and other issues, he explained the meaning of “Vertical Forest”. On the outer walls of “Vertical Forest” buildings, trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants are planted. Such multifunctional high-rise buildings not only are world towers, but also have rich ecologies and cultural diversity. They draw human and nature, space and nature closer.

At the round table forum, DoBe Group’s Chief Designer Chen Hong said: “We use architecture and art to convey our sense of beauty, to make the ideology of life richer and more colorful. As a designer, we not only need to consider the design of products, but also need to consider other responsibilities. Spatial design doesn’t mean repression or limitation. In fact, we need to create an environment for human to coexist with the sky, the earth and nature with an open and free mind. We should be able to organically combine architectural art with natural space and green forests. Win-win coexistence is our ideal goal, as well as our duty to our future, to our beautiful and harmonious China. Only from this angle, can we give our architectural design a soul and eternity.”

It’s reported that during this event, the famous Korean architect Howard Jiho Kim created the first artistic installation “Space” for WE"ART100, which stresses the relationship between human and space, by ingeniously using the venue’s structure, lighting, cones, thin gauze, perfectly taking advantage of the inter-conversion between space and art. In the shadow and light formed by the installation, art works showed more tension and intelligence. In addition, “Art Nova 100” also exhibited 17 art works to support this art event.

At the event, artists respectively interpreted the relationships between “WE” and art, architecture, nature. With thunderous applause and the good wish to “enlighten life and explore the future”, WE"ART100 was launched. The artists and guests wrote their best wishes for WE"ART100 on the red ribbons prepared by us and tied the ribbons on the crabapple trees in the glass house. Crabapple implies love and “WE”. This is also the value that WE" wants to pass on to the world -WE" for Love.

This year, the works designed by WE"ART100 artists will be exhibited at the “Art Box” of DoBe WE" International Hub@Temple of Heaven in succession in 2017, to interpret WE" and the concept of “WE” by 100 forms of art.
